Top Ten for Stuart Edmonds and the CCR TM Team at Milton Park
| 13th May 2013|
Stuart Edmond took his CCR TM 450Fi MX machine to a top ten overall finish yesterday at round 4 of the MX1 British Motocross Championship held at Milton Park, Northampton.
Qualifying 15th in the mornings timed session Stuart struggled to get a clean, fast lap in on the tight jump laden track. With Saturday's rain dampening the conditions it was a claggy affair and after a good wash and re-prep for the bike, and rider!, it was soon time to head to the gate for race 1 of the 3 race schedule.
The first start was not good for Stuart, a missed gear left him trailing at the back of the back with all the work to do, however he soon found his rhythm and began to work through the traffic on the difficult to pass circuit. Continously moving forward Stuart ended race 1 in 12th place.
Race two gave Stuart a dream start and the TM headed out of the first turn in the top 5 in some very good GP company, working hard to maintain this position Stuart unfortunately succumbed to the dreaded arm pump and had to relax allowing some of his competitors to pass. After the 20 minute + 2 lap moto Stuart held his ground well and took a well earned 9th place.
The third and final race of the day again saw Stuart get a good start and he settled into the top fifteen as he re-adjusted himself to the now sodden surface. With the rain still falling he was in the thick of the action on the heavy and slippery surface of the circuit. Working the lines and riding smoothly Stuart gradually upped his position in the field, as the flag dropped to conclude the day he once again took a 9th place finish, with 8th and 7th right there in his sights. This gave Stuart 10th overall on the day and he now sits in 11th place in the current championship standings.
