As official sponsor to both the British GT and Formula 3 Mobil Service Centre attended Donington Park today as it opened its doors to the public and press for a preview of what this season has to offer for both championships.
Donington Park played host to the British GT and F3 media day today where an array of the best cars from this coming season were paraded and put through their paces ahead of the first races at Oulton Park, 19th April, British GT and Donington Park, 8th April, Formula 3.
The day opened with the Formula 3 cars taking to the track followed by the GTs in the afternoon. Almost thirty cars attended today’s event with representatives from Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ginetta, Lotus, McLaren, Nissan, Porsche and Toyota. Mel Noel, Fuel Sales Manager for WP Group, (pictured right) gears up for her adrenaline fuelled hot lap by the McLaren’s P1 Hypercar.
This will be the 21st season of the GT Championship and this year’s crop of cars and competitors are looking like they will be the most exciting to date. British GT Championship Series Manager, Benjamin Franassovici promises, ‘The 2014 season … to be another epic in the history of the British GT Championship.’ With over ten manufactures competing and such a fantastic array of machinery at Donington today it’s hard to disagree this season is definitely looking very good.
