Ryuichi Kiyonari has completed his first test with the Team Kagayama squad at Suzuka in preparation for the Eight Hour event and now heads back to Brands Hatch ahead of next weekend's (17/18/19 July) round of the British Superbike Championship event.
Kiyonari flew to Japan following Knockhill, where he equalled his best result of the season with a fourth place, for the two day test onboard the Suzuki. The triple BSB champion is already a four-time winner of the annual event and will line up alongside Japanese racing legends Yukio Kagayama and Noriyuki Haga this year.
Kiyonari proved his impressive pace at the test by setting the team's best lap of the test and with more than 150 riders participating in the two-day test, his time put him fourth fastest overall.
Kiyonari said: "I am happy to be able to join the team for this test. Everything went smoothly, and I am impressed by how the team works. It was my first time on a Suzuki, but I felt quite comfortable; it usually take time to get used to a new bike, but this was good.
"I was able to ride in both wet and dry conditions, so my biggest worry is now gone, so I am looking forward to the race. I still need to do some more laps when we get to the race so we are ready."
